Local Philanthropy

Change for a Change

UWIT supports local organizations in the Upstate through our “Change for a Change” program. Women and children groups hold a special place in our hearts and we gladly donate every month to one special organization. Our group of professional women generously contribute “change” (coins, dollars and checks) at every Lunch & Learn meeting. Last year our group contributed a total of $406.00 to Safe Harbor and The Meyer Center for Special Children. We continue to support these charities in 2017.  We are honored to make a difference, and we appreciate the generosity of our members!

Helping every child reach his or her potential

No boundaries. No limits. No obstacles that can’t be overcome. That is a core belief behind the work they do at The Meyer Center for Special Children. Unlocking the potential that lies in each child—regardless of disabilities, setbacks, or circumstances—is at the heart of Dr. Leslie Meyer’s original vision.  He recognized that every child, regardless of his or her medical challenges, could benefit from quality education and therapy services. That was his belief. That was his passion. And that vision lives today in the hearts of the Meyer Center staff, volunteers, donors, and supporters.

The Meyer Center Vision
